about

a message from pilot orion:

"sitting amongst an old shared drive i find remnants of the things we built together. i feel pain and anger and sorrow and harsh nostalgia burn through my chest. i dig for every piece of you, every piece of us, that remained on file shares and old hard drives. through link rot and file decay, i piece together my reminder: you were a ghost when you burned the bridge. you were a fairweather and a leech. you were a thief of time and life. i hope you hurt when you think of me. all that remains in my memory is pain, staining what was once joy. i hope i never see you again.

the final suite is comprised of what little remains of the debut album you so desperately tried to keep buried, always unsatisfied with yourself, always unsatisfied with your work, always striving for perfection, always refusing to commit to anything less. nevertheless, there it sat on an old laptop's hard drive, in the earliest form you shared it with me. Your greatest slip-up was to leave it in the hands of someone who cared. I scoured for that album's final form for years. And there, the traces of it's genesis remained for me to contort into a mockery of you. if you will not let the world hear what you have achieved, the talent that you were unfairly blessed with, then i shall twist it into new forms, and force it into this world in a way you cannot remove. i will never tell you. i will never allow you to stop it. burn, narcissus, for your failings are your own, and your pain of your own doing. i weep for you. for how long, I wonder?"
